LOOKING BACK...
​WEST OFFALY IN TIMES GONE BY
Brosna Press are seeking old black and white photographs for inclusion in a forthcoming book of photographs from the late 1800s up to the 1960s. The photos can be of any subject, depicting life in West Offaly from before the turn of the century onwards. We are currently looking for photos from the following areas: Ferbane, Belmont, High Street, Cloghan, Clonfanlough, Clonmacnoise, Shannonbridge, Shannon Harbour, Banagher, Lumcloon, Boora, Kilcormac, Pullough, Ballycumber, Doon and nearby areas. We plan to compile other areas in the near future and will welcome submissions from other towns and areas soon.

SCANNING & DIGITAL UPLOAD
Photographs should be scanned in RGB format at a minimum of 300dpi. Small photographs (A5 size or smaller) should be enlarged by at least 200% when scanning to capture as much detail as possible in the scan. Many photos from this period are very small (credit card size or smaller). If you are scanning a photo this size, enlarge by 400% when scanning. Save the photograph as a jpeg and name the scan (eg "Main_Street_Kilcormac_1940.jpg"). Photographs should be supplied with full captions. Originals that have been photographed on a cameraphone and submitted will need to be scanned in high resolution. If you don't have access to a scanner, we will require the original photograph from you for scanning. All original photographs will be carefully filed for collection/return. PHOTOGRAPH DETAILS
Please include the date or year the photo was taken (if known) and name those who appear in the photo where possible. Include detail about the location, event and any relevant background information.

Please note: A selection of photographs submitted will be included in a forthcoming book of photographs from this period. We cannot guarantee that your photo will be included in the book. We will not be including wedding photographs in this collection.
